"The Guilt Trip" Promo Incorrectly Claims Golden Globes Nod for Barbra Streisand
Paramount Pictures(LOS ANGELES) — Paramount Pictures had to move quickly to correct an error on Thursday morning, after a video trailer had been posted on YouTube promoting the new Barbra Streisand movie, The Guilt Trip. According to Deadline.com, the 20-second spot — since yanked — inadvertently claimed that Streisand has been nominated for a Golden Globe. She hasn’t.
The studio took down the clip and issued a statement saying, “Given Barbra’s incredible performance in the film, there was certainly every hope in our mind that she would be duly recognized this morning. Like all studios, we create many advertising spots in advance of the key award nomination announcements so we are prepared in the event of a nomination. One such spot was inadvertently posted online and immediately taken down.”
The singer-actress has previously been nominated for numerous Golden Globes for acting. She won the Globes’ lifetime achievement honor, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, in 2000.
The Guilt Trip, which also stars Seth Rogen, is set for release on Dec. 19.
