George Clooney, Sandra Bullock Attend NYC Premiere of "Gravity"
Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is earning some of the best reviews of her career for her work in director Alfonso Cuarón’s drama Gravity, in which she and George Clooney play astronauts who find themselves stranded in space after a space walk goes wrong.
At Tuesday night’s New York City premiere, Oscar winner Clooney said he’s heard the reviews, too, and he couldn’t agree more.
“Sure…and you also got to remember on top of all the good acting that she’s doing, and she’s a wonderful actress already but, on top of all the good work she’s doing she also has to do it while speaking quickly and moving slowly ’cause you’re in space,” he said.
Bullock trained extensively for the film, with the already fit actress putting in serious time at the gym to get her core strong enough for the rigors of filming, which had her suspended and floating via wires and a special, spinning rig. She called the film’s unique shoot, during which she logged many hours virtually by herself, “frustratingly brilliant,” and a “once in a lifetime opportunity that I’m so lucky…I got to experience.”
Gravity blasts off into theaters Friday.
