Steve Carell Takes Over UK Weather Forecast

D Dipasupil/FilmMagic(LONDON) — A couple of weeks ago, Will Ferrell anchored a North Dakota newscast as Ron Burgundy.  On Wednesday, his Anchorman 2 co-star, Steve Carell, pulled a similar stunt in the U.K.

The major difference: Carell wasn’t in character as dimwitted weatherman Brick Tamland when he appeared on ITV’s morning show, Daybreak.

At first, Carell offered weatherwoman Laura Tobin some advice before she presented her forecast, telling her, “[C]lear your mind and think of anything but the weather while you’re doing it.”

Tobin, standing in front of a green screen, began discussing the fog that was sweeping through southern England.  Seconds later, Carell stepped into the picture and teased her about the weather symbols superimposed on the map, including a triangle containing an exclamation point, representing a fog warning.

Carell eventually turned to the camera and said, “This is the hardest job in the world.”

Tobin was a good sport about it, laughing throughout the forecast.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens Dec. 18 in the U.S.
