La Porte County Sheriff’s Office arrest voyeurism suspect
Deputies from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in an ongoing investigation of voyeurism in the Weatherstone Village neighborhood. The neighborhood, located along US 20 and east of the La Porte/Porter County Line has had an ongoing issue with a suspect that has been observed numerous times looking into windows of homes. On Monday night, sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint of a suspicious person walking near a residence on Fox Hollow Drive. The homeowner there had video surveillance of the suspect which was shared with the responding deputies. Sheriff’s deputies searched the area however they were called away for a house fire and were not able to locate the suspect. Deputies were called back to the area on Deerfield Trail after a resident reported a person matching the suspect’s description knocking on the door. At about the same time a resident called to report that their 17 year old son had not returned home. When deputies arrived for follow up on the curfew violation, they noted that the 17 year old matched the description of the suspect in the voyeurism case. Following an interview the suspect was taken into custody. The 17 year old is charged with Voyeurism, Trespass and Curfew Violation. He was transported to the La Porte County Juvenile Services Center.
