In Michigan City on Monday, at approximately 10:39pm, Officers were dispatched to a fast food restaurant on the 3900 block of Franklin Street regarding an Armed Robbery that just occurred at the establishment. An immediate investigation began. It was determined a 13 year old male juvenile entered the establishment and, after brandishing a weapon, demanded money from the employees. After obtaining what he demanded, the suspect fled and entered into the passenger seat of an awaiting vehicle a short distance away. Due to the quick response by shift units, the suspect entering the awaiting vehicle was spotted by Officer McLemore who subsequently attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver of the vehicle, 18 year old Jamariea Cobb, refused to pull over and led Officers on a pursuit. The pursuit continued to the intersection of Woodland/Michigan Boulevard where Officer Hazel was able to successfully deploy Stop Sticks which deflated two of the suspect vehicle tires. The suspect vehicle still continued traveling to the 200 Block of Springland Avenue where it finally stopped. Both suspects were then taken into custody and evidence pertaining to this criminal act was recovered from the vehicle.
