Michigan City Fireworks Code

In the City of Michigan City, fireworks may be used only between 5pm and two hours after dusk which is 11pm. from June 29 through July 3 and from July 5th through July 9th. On the Fourth of July the hours are extended from 10am to midnight. Fireworks law provisions: Fireworks may be used only on the user’s property; or on the property of someone who has consented to the use of fireworks; or at a special discharge location. Michigan City Police Chief Swistek stressed the personal responsibility of each fireworks consumer, and stated “Obey the law, follow directions for safe use, and apply common sense.”
