Update To The Court House Shooting

In a story WIMS has been following, investigators have confirmed that inmate and Berrien County shooter, Larry Gordon was handcuffed in front during the incident. After a struggle he was able to disarm Deputy Atterberry and used this firearm during this incident. Atterberry was the officer who was injured. Investigators worked late into the evening Monday night and continued throughout the day Tuesday. The bodies of Joe Zangaro and Ron Kienzle were escorted late Monday night by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Motor Unit and the Michigan State Police to Grand Rapids. An autopsy was performed Tuesday. The Berrien County Courthouses in Saint Joseph and Niles, Michigan will remain closed to the public on Wednesday.
