INDOT announced the closure of the westbound I-94 ramp to eastbound U.S. 20/35 (exit 40A) running through the middle of September. Crews will also restrict traffic to two lanes in each direction, between mile marker 38 and mile marker 41. These closures are necessary so crews can resurface and restore the I-94 bridges that run over U.S. 20/35 and Trail Creek. During the closure, drivers traveling westbound on I-94 wishing to exit east on U.S. 20/35 will be detoured via the westbound U.S. 20/35 Dog Leg Ramp to the U.S. 212 interchange, where they will follow the ramps to gain access to eastbound U.S. 20/35

INDOT has set up lane closures on U.S. 30, between CR 300 E and U.S. 35, near Hamlet through the middle of September. Crews will close one eastbound and one westbound lane at a time, restricting drivers to one lane in both directions. This closure is necessary so crews can resurface and restore the surface of the U.S. 35 bridge over Robbins Ditch.

INDOT announced the closure of the east and westbound driving lane of I-94, between the U.S. 20/35 Interchange and mile marker 41, through the end of October. Crews will rehabilitate the I-94 bridge at that location that runs over the NICTD Railroad. During the project, traffic will be reduced to two lanes on both the east and westbound side of I-94. Drivers should be prepared to slow down at this location and be alert to shifting traffic patterns.

INDOT announced the beginning of Phase Two of the U.S. 31/20 Bypass bridge rehabilitation project near the South Bend Airport. This project will close off two ramps and lanes near the U.S. 31/20 Bypass as crews rehabilitate the Bypass bridge over U.S. 20. Ramp closures will reopen by the middle of October. Traffic will be detoured around the ramp closures by utilizing the interchanges at the U.S. 31/20 Bypass and Nimtz Road and the U.S. 31/20 Bypass and State Road 2.

On I-94 in both directions between the Indiana Toll Road and Rt 49 expect delays during an ongoing road construction project.

In South Bend, INDOT is alerting drivers to lane closures at State Road 23 between Fellows Street and Miner Street which will be in place through the middle of August. Crews will repair and repave sections of the road for restoration. During the project, SR 23 will be open to all through traffic, but restricted to one lane in both directions.

There’s roadwork on the Indiana Toll Road Work for the next two years which will affect 70 miles of roadways including 53 bridges from Lake Station to Elkhart. ****** Known as the 80/90 PUSH (Pavement Upgrade for a Superior Highway) Project, the two-year reconstruction project will start at Milepost 20 in Lake Station through Milepost 30 near SR 49/Calumet Avenue. Work zones will also occur from Milepost 43 to Milepost 51 in the LaPorte area. The full project involves the rehabilitation of 73 miles of pavement, including shoulders and ramps as needed; the rehabilitation of 53 bridges; and the installation of a fiber optic cable to support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The majority of the work will be completed one lane at a time, allowing the other lane to remain open to traffic to minimize traffic disruptions and travel delays.******************
