A Hoosier development company has cleared a key hurdle for its proposal to demolish and replace an eyesore in Goshen. The Goshen Redevelopment Commission has approved an agreement with Brazil-based Emmert Group Properties LLC to demolish the vacant Goshen Inn and build a $7.5 million apartment complex in its place. Emmert wants to construct eight buildings, which would include 100 units and a clubhouse. The property has been unused since 2011 and the city acquired the property from the family of its former owner. Construction could begin in May and would be slated to wrap up before the end of 2018.
