In celebration of National Library Month in September, children in La Porte County are invited to get excited about reading at the La Porte Physician Network Pediatrics office. From 9-noon Sept. 12, children of all ages can sign up for library cards at the Founder’s Square pediatric office, 1509 State St., La Porte, and receive information about the benefits of reading at an early age, and creating a family that loves to read. To participate in signing up for the library card, residents of La Porte County can simply present a driver’s license or picture ID and proof of address, such as a utility bill. Youth accounts require a legal guardian or parent information, and preschool accounts (ages 0-5) are fine-free. More information about La Porte County Library card types can be found at http://www.laportelibrary.org/get-a-library-card/.
