Rep. Dermody announces Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship
State Rep. Tom Dermody (R-LaPorte) announced the launch of a new scholarship program designed to incentivize top-performing high school students to pursue a career teaching in Indiana’s classrooms. Dermody supported a new law this year establishing the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship. Beginning Nov. 1, both incoming and current college students studying education can apply for the grant, which awards $7,500 per year toward college costs to those who commit to teaching in Indiana’s public or private schools for five years after graduating. Students can visit www.LearnMoreIndiana.org/NextTeacher for more information and to submit an application before the deadline on Dec. 31.
