La Porte County Sheriff John Boyd praising Sens. Donnelly & Young legislation
The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office was recently made aware of the legislation that was introduced by Indiana’s US Senators Joe Donnelley and Todd Young in support of mental health initiatives for police officers. La Porte County Sheriff John Boyd is offering his praise for this bipartisan effort that beings to light a serious issue facing police officers. “I applaud this bill that is meant to support the unsung heroes in our communities. Police officers face a multitude of issues each and every day that take a toll on their mental health and well-being. It is common knowledge that a policeman’s life expectancy is shorter than the average due to the extreme stress they face. We appreciate the efforts of Senator Donnelly and Senator Young in guiding this bill through the senate and encourage the same action in the House of Representatives.”
