INDOT announced the closure of State Road 4, between CR 300 E and CR 350 E in LaPorte County, Wednesday, July 5 from 6 a.m. CST to 4 p.m. CST. INDOT Maintenance Crews will close the road to dig out a section of ground that runs below State Road 4 to install a new culvert. The schedule of this work is subject to change in the event of inclement weather. Drivers traveling west on State Road 4 will be detoured southeast on State Road 104, west on U.S. 6, north on U.S. 35, east on State Road 2 and back to State Road 4. Drivers wishing to travel east on State Road 4 will be detoured west on State Road 2, south on U.S. 35 , east on U.S. 6, northwest on State Road 104 and back to State Road 4.
INDOT is alerting drivers to lane closures on the State Road 149 bridge over Salt Creek in Porter County. The rehabilitation efforts for the bridge will begin in late August or early September. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to the signs in the work zone, obey the posted speed limit and be on the alert for workers and equipment. This is one of three projects which are a $1.3 million dollar restoration investment that INDOT has awarded to JCI Bridge Group.
