SAUL LOEB/AFP/Getty Images(HAMBURG, Germany) — President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are holding their first official meeting as heads of state on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

“It’s an honor to be with you,” Trump said to President Putin before their meeting started.

Before their high-stakes sit-down, the two leaders met briefly this morning where they exchanged a handshake.

Trump and Putin were joined by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and two translators.

Their discussion will likely focus on Syria and Ukraine, though Russia’s aggressive cyberactivity is also expected to be addressed in a broader sense, which may include the 2016 presidential election.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
