Two officers responded to the call on Saturday night, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), when one “fired their weapon, fatally striking a woman.”

Officials are trying to find video evidence of the incident. The officers’ body cameras were not turned on at the time and the squad camera did not record the shooting, according to officials.

The victim has not yet been identified in the U.S.  Australian media reports say the woman was 40 years old and living in Minneapolis with her fiance. Family members said she called 911 to report a possible assault in the alley behind her home.

BCA tells ABC News they will not be releasing the 911 call until the conclusion of the investigation.

The woman’s identity will be released following an autopsy by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to BCA.

Minneapolis Mayor Besty Hodges said in a statement she is “heartsick and deeply disturbed” by the shooting.
