La Porte County Sheriff John Boyd announcing retirement and resignation
La Porte County Sheriff John Boyd is announcing the retirement and resignation of two deputies, the promotion of two and the new hire of two deputies. Sheriff Boyd complimented the retiring deputies in their careers, both of whom have taken jobs in the private sector, and wished them well in their future endeavors. Sergeant Dave Pflughaupt retired following 31 years of service. Deputy Donald Hicks has resigned following 13 years of service. Sergeant Al Ott has been promoted to the rank of captain and will assumed duties as the midnight shift commander. Deputy Nathan Battleday has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and has been assigned as patrol supervisor on the midnight shift. In order to fill the vacancies two people have been hired by the sheriff’s office as patrol deputies. Jail Deputy John Roby. Jr. and Reserve Deputy Daniel Kesling has both been hired as patrol deputies.
