Search warrants excected in Eastport and Elston Grove neighborhoods
According to a press release from the Michigan City Police, the La Porte County Drug Task Force executed two unrelated search warrants this week within Michigan City, in the Eastport and Elston Grove Neighborhoods, following multiple complaints about alleged narcotics activity at both locations. The first search warrant was executed at 2206 E. Michigan Blvd. in the early morning hours of Wednesday August 2nd. The search resulted in the seizure of a large amount of crack cocaine, US Currency, and a handgun. The search resulted in the arrest of 66 year old George D. Jackson of Michigan City, who was charged in La Porte County Superior Court #1 with Dealing Cocaine Level 2 Felony, Dealing Cocaine Level 4 Felony, and Serious Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm Level 4 Felony. Det. Kyle Shiparski is the lead investigator in this case. The second search warrant was executed at 106 Maple Street in Michigan City, during the early morning hours of Thursday August 3rd. The search resulted in the seizure of crack cocaine, and the subsequent arrest of 60 year old Cassandra Bardlett who was charged with two counts of Dealing Cocaine Level 5 Felony, and 62 year old Willie Daniels who was charged with two counts of Dealing Cocaine Level 4 Felony. These investigations will continue, and subsequent arrests are likely. The La Porte County Drug Task Force encourages citizens to submit tips through social media, or the crime tip hotline, 873-1488.
