Update on the death investigation of 24 year old Ashleigh Blatz

In a story WIMS has been following-

On Thursday August 24th Michigan City detectives spoke with a person of interest in this case. Information was gathered and the person was taken into custody. Friday August 25th with the assistance of the La Porte County Prosecutors office Sgt. Ken Havlin presented testimony in a probable cause hearing in front of Honorable Judge Michael Bergerson superior court #1.Probable cause was found and at that time formal charges were filed against 66 year old Charles Williams.

Williams was charged with the following charges:

Count I—-Dealing in cocaine or narcotic drug level 4 felony

Count II—Dealing in cocaine or narcotic drug level 4 felony

Count III—Alteration of scene of death level 6 felony

At this time Williams has a $50,000.00 cash only bond.

The autopsy has been completed and results are pending toxicology.

The police department wants to stress that this is an open and ongoing case. We also want to assure the public that this was not a random act.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
