New school-based telehealth program will benefit all Valparaiso Community School families and staff
Managed Health Services (MHS) and HealthLinc are partnering on the Healthy Vikes Clinic, a new school-based telehealth program that will benefit all Valparaiso Community School families and staff. An official ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce the telehealth program to staff, parents and students took place on Wednesday, August 23 at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, 1600 Roosevelt Rd. in Valparaiso. The telehealth clinic gives students the opportunity to be seen by a licensed healthcare provider without leaving school. Services provided include diagnoses and treatment for acute illness and minor injuries such as strep throat, ear infections, rash and influenza; limited laboratory testing; and behavioral health services and referrals. The clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30-11:30 a.m. and will be closed on all school holidays.
