Director of Student Support Services to speak at Michigan City Parents Support Group

The Michigan City Parents Support Group is pleased to announce that Heidi Brett Baker, the Director of Student Support Services at Michigan City Area Schools will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, September 28 meeting being held in its new home, the First United Methodist Church located at 121 East 7the Street from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Brett Baker, who recently transformed the Special Education Department into Student Support Services, will provide families and the community with an update, her vision and supportive philosophies for servicing children in the district and peer to peer integration. The Michigan City Parents Support Group offers parents of children with disabilities a safe environment to connect, share, and advocate. The Group, developed in January 2017, was designed to be a resource for Parents in the greater LaPorte County area. The Group is committed to providing families with timely information that will inform and empower Parents and their children.
