Valparaiso Police investigating canine death

Valparaiso Police are investigating the theft and death of a canine from the 6 block of Dumas St.  The canine was reported taken from the residence at approximately 6pm on Wednesday night. The canine was described as a white/red male pitbull named “Dudley”. On Thursday afternoon the canine’s owner called and informed police she had located her canine deceased behind her house near a set of railroad tracks. The canine was found decapitated. Police are investigating the incident and currently are following up on leads provided by the victim. This is the only incident report to the department and police do not believe, at this time, this was a random incident.  If anybody has information regarding the incident they are asked to contact the Valparaiso Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (219) 462-2135 or text the information to TIP411 (847-411) and enter “Valpo” as the first word in the message field prior to sending the information.
