"Stranger Things" creators promise more of Lucas’ lovable snarky sister, Erica
Netflix(NEW YORK) — Priah Ferguson, the young breakout star who plays Lucas Sinclair’s adorably sassy little sister, Erica, in the second season of Stranger Things, will have more screen time next year.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer say Ferguson, who was a local addition to the cast, wasn’t intended to even be featured as much as she was in season two.
“I love Erica,” says Matt Duffer. “[Ferguson] was just a local hire we made in Atlanta. Erica wasn’t even supposed to be in [season two] as much as she was. We fell in love with this girl.”
Matt continues, “I thought she’s very GIF-able, if that’s a word. She was great.”
If you have yet to binge-watch the entire series, Erica has won over viewers with her snarky, sassy one-liners in which she pokes fun at her nerdy brother and his friends.
Ross says because of her likeability, expect to see more of Erica Sinclair.
“There will definitely be more Erica in season three,” he promises. “That is the fun thing about the show — you discover stuff as you’re filming. We were able to integrate more of her in, but not as much you want because the story [was] already going. ‘We got to use more Erica’ — that was one of the first things we said in the writers’ room.”
Season two of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix.
