Michigan City Police Commission swears in new Officer

The Michigan City Police Commission along with Chief Mark Swistek announced the hiring of their newest Officer, Angelo Davenport. Angelo was sworn in on Tuesday and brings the current staff to 81 Officers. MCPD is budgeted for 83 officers and is currently in the hiring process. Angelo attended Hammond Baptist High School in Schererville. Angelo is currently assigned to the Midnight Shift where he will conduct his pre-basic training and head off to the Indiana Law enforcement Academy in February of 2018. MCPD said they look forward to fulfilling their full complement by April.
