Man arrested for Probable Cause for Murder in Michigan City

In Michigan City on Sunday just after midnight, officers were dispatched to an upper apartment at the 600 block of Spring Street in reference to a possible Burglary in progress. The Officers were also advised by the dispatch that someone may have been shot. During the investigation the officers secured the apartment and located Brian Turner on the floor in one of the bedrooms. Mr. Turner had been shot and was deceased. The Michigan City Police Department Investigative Division was notified of the situation and responded to conduct an investigation. Throughout the rest of the night and into the day the Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence. It was determined that the initial call of a Burglary in progress was false. Based on information obtained throughout the investigation, Joshua Alfonzo Ratliff was arrested on Probable Cause for Murder pending a Probable Cause hearing. All arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
