Congressman Banks releases statement on his vote for the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act
Congressman Jim Banks released the following statement after voting for the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act: “Protecting the constitutionally-guaranteed Second Amendment rights of Hoosiers is one of my top legislative priorities. While I would have preferred that the legislation voted on today – which contains two separate issues – be debated separately, the reciprocity reforms in this bill are too important not to support. This bill will give law-abiding citizens the ability to protect themselves when traveling across state lines, a significant step forward in exercising our Second Amendment rights. I will continue to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners.” U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) also voted to allow law-abiding gun owners with a concealed carry permit to exercise their rights when traveling across state lines. “Americans don’t lose their Second Amendment rights when they cross state lines, and they shouldn’t lose their concealed carry rights either,” Congresswoman Walorski said. “The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act will protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners and allow those qualified to carry a concealed firearm to do so in any state that allows it.” This legislation passed the House 231-198.
