From Iron Man to Groot: Marvel Studios finally releases 10 year "class picture"
Marvel Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Back in October, Marvel Studios gathered dozens of its superstars for a “class picture” celebrating 10 years of Marvel movies …and now fans can see the star-studded shot.
The photo features nearly everyone involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Robert Downey Jr., who kicked off the whole shebang along with actor-director Jon Favreau with 2008’s Iron Man.
Next to Downey is the man behind the movies, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Behind Feige is Stan Lee, the man who created — or co-created — most of the Marvel movie characters. To his right is Chris “Captain America” Evans.
The photo includes some 79 people in all: a who’s who of Marvel movie heroes and the filmmakers who brought them to life. You can see everyone from Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch, to Ant-Man star Michael Douglas, to the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy — including the Guardians stars who are only heard, not seen, in the film, like Vin Diesel, voice of Groot.
Marvel also released a behind-the-scenes video of the celebrities mingling.
Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes in the Marvel movies, recently told ABC Radio, “It was crazy…I can’t even recall a moment in time when all these people have been in the same room!”
Cobie Smulders, who plays secret agent Maria Hill in the MCU, told ABC Radio about the shoot a few months ago.
“It was so ridiculous,” she laughed. “You know, when I’m 97…I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, gather ’round, children…Look at this! Robert Downey Jr. — he was a big star! And look at me! I’m standing right above him!'”
Most of the actors pictured will be seen in character together in Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters May 4.
Marvel Studios, like ABC News, is owned by Disney.
