A semi with double trailers blocked west bound I-80/94 traffic at the 15.4 mile marker (this is just east of the Ripley exit) for over 2 1/2 hours Saturday when it rolled over. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Corey Adam revealed that at approximately 4:01 p.m., Saturday, October 6, a 2016 Freightliner pulling double trailers loaded with Fed Ex packages, owned by Sunlight Logistics out of Edina, Minnesota, and driven by 43 year old Nuur Mohamed of Sioux Falls, Iowa was on the ramp from the Indiana Toll Road entering onto I-80/94 west bound interstate. Mohamed took the ramp took fast to negotiate the curve as he tried to enter west bound I-80/94 and lost control. The second trailer began to jack-knife, went off the road onto the outer shoulder and into the grass. The semi started to roll over going across all lanes of west bound traffic and rolled onto its passenger side. While it was sliding across it struck a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse that was in the left lane, driven by 38 year old Alexandre Volpato of Rochester Hills, Michigan on its front passenger side. As Volpato was braking he was hit in the rear by a 2017 Nissan Rouge, driven by 19 year old Amethyst Romo of Chicago, Illinois. No driver was injured.
