Michigan City Snowflake Parade

Parade route Starts at 9th & Franklin and ends at the Library with the tree lighting.  Michigan City High School choir will be performing a few Christmas Carols during the tree lighting and Firefighters Local 475 will be providing Hot Chocolate and Cookies.  Santa will be available after the Parade at 7th & Franklin to visit with Children.  Santa will also be available every Saturday & Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM during the month of December at 7th & Franklin staring this Sunday.

Christmas-themed Behind the Scenes Tour

Have you toured Michigan City’s Barker Mansion in the past but were left wondering what was behind closed doors? Christmas Behind the Scenes Tours in December will offer guests a look at the typically off-limits spaces of the historic home. The two-hour tours are offered on December 6 and 15; they begin at 7 pm Central Time. The Barker Mansion is located at 631 Washington Street in Michigan City, IN. The 38-room mansion was built by freight car industrialist and philanthropist John H. Barker in the early 1900’s, after he expanded onto his father’s original 1857 home on the same site. The sights and sounds of Christmas on December 7th

The sights and sounds of Christmas will be in the air at the upcoming “A Very Merry Christmas Market” on Saturday, December 7 from 10AM to 4PM at the Michigan City/Laporte Visitor and Convention Center. Christmas music and refreshments will be offered while browsing among the displays of unique gifts created by artists from the Michigan City Art League and Land of Lakes Art Alliance. There will be a variety of items perfect for gift giving, including ornaments, jewelry, clothing, and much more. Some gifts can be personalized upon request. Some artists may also take commissions for custom artwork. This will be a one-of-a-kind gift market where you can find the perfect gift for someone, or yourself.
