A truck driver working the construction area, on I-94 west bound, thought he lowered his trailer after dropping off a load and hit the bridge overpass at the 43.5 mile marker (this is 1 ½ miles west of the Michigan State Line). Preliminary investigation revealed just after 11:30pm, on Thursday a semi pulling a dump trailer, had just dropped a load of asphalt off in the above construction (re-paving) area.  The only lane of traffic west bound open was the inner shoulder, all other lanes were closed for construction. The driver, thought he had lowered his trailer after dropping off his load and had moved out of the construction onto the inner shoulder when the raised trailer struck the County Road 900 N overpass. The trailer became detached from the tractor and overturned under the CR 900 N overpass in the construction area.  The tractor stayed upright. The driver was taken to the hospital for complaint of pain.  He was also cited for Unsafe Vehicle. Indiana Department of Transportation was notified for inspecting the bridge.
