La Porte Police investigating physical abuse of a kitten
La Porte Police are investigating the physical abuse of a kitten by two males last Thursday. On July 6th, at around 12:10 p.m., La Porte Police responded to the 500 block of Detroit St. to investigate a report of animal abuse. Witnesses told police as they were driving through the area, they saw two males repeatedly kicking a small kitten in the front yard of 507 Detroit St. The witnesses stopped their vehicle and confronted the suspects, who got into a vehicle and left the area. La Porte Police Specialist, Bill Bunton, took possession of the kitten and immediately transported it to the La Porte County Animal Shelter, where the shelter veterinarian was on site and administered emergency care. The kitten, which was seriously injured, is improving and expected to recover. The suspects were described as two white males, in their late teens to early twenties. The suspect vehicle was described as possibly an older model, white, Audi sedan. A plate number was provided, but it did not return to the same described vehicle.
