ABC/Lou Rocco(NEW YORK) — The $100,000 Pyramid returns for its third season this Sunday on ABC and host Michael Strahan promises it’s just as fun-filled as ever.

“I think the game kind of keeps it fresh,” Strahan tells ABC Radio. “This is a game you could just play day after day after day because…we come up with very clever categories, very clever words, and I think the key is having great guests and great celebrities and putting together great teams who are really into the game.”

As for the key to being a good host, Strahan says it’s all about being himself.

“I don’t know any other way to do it,” he says. “One thing I’ve learned when you are replacing iconic people in things that you’ve done — from $100,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark to Regis Philbin at Live, you know, going over to GMA — is one thing you can’t fake is authenticity.”

The word-association game pairs celebrities with contestants, who hope to win the ultimate prize of $100,000. The celebrity guests this season include EGOT winner Rita Moreno — who appeared on the show 110 times back when Dick Clark hosted it — as well as SNL’s Leslie Jones, Modern Family’s Julie Bowen, and Strahan’s GMA co-anchor, George Stephanopoulos.

The 86-year-old Moreno says her biggest challenge this time around will be clicking with the younger contestants.

“You know, we have different frames of reference and I worry a little bit about that, particularly about the electronic thing,” she says. “But what will be will be and I’m hopeful that at least if we get to do part of the pyramid they’ll still get quite a bit of money.”

The $100,000 Pyramid premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
