In attendance was comedian Ray Romano who said Williams’ comedy was unprecedented.

“Well, just the sharpest, the quickest,” Romano said. “I don’t think you ever seen somebody just extemporaneously just giving off that kind of improv and comedy like that. “

Bob Saget also spoke with ABC Radio at the premiere about the actor comedian, who committed suicide in 2014.

“He just shouldn’t be gone because he was beautiful in many ways,” an emotional Saget said. “Everybody feels the pain of his loss. They really do because he did everything. Even his acting alone was magical. He was magical.”  (THE BOB SAGET AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)

Come Inside My Mind explores what made Williams such a powerful figure in the world of comedy. Told mostly through his own words, the documentary also includes in-depth interviews with stars who knew him, including Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman and Steve Martin.

“You’re only given a little spark of madness,” Williams says in the trailer. “If you lose that, you’re nothing.”

Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind premieres on HBO July 16 at 8 p.m.
