From IHSAA:  It took 93 and a half minutes to break through, but Chesterton converted just under the wire to claim a 1-0 victory over Zionsville in the boys Class 3-A state championship game. The two teams put on a brilliant display of defense through 80 minutes of regulation time and 13 minutes of overtime. In the final minute of the second OT, the Trojans were awarded a corner kick. Bailey Arthur sent the boot into the box where teammate Robbie Capehart flew in to the left side of the Zionsville net and headed the ball in. The teams were only 27.4 seconds away from a shootout. The title marks the first for the Trojans of coach Lucas Sabedra. Chesterton (21-0-2) finished as runner-up in 2016 and 2007. Both teams had opportunities to break through previous to that with Zionsville holding a 25-11 advantage in shots. Zionsville’s Sam Allen recorded four saves in goal, while Chesterton’s Charlie Eaton recorded six – including two incredible stops in the second half. Coach Rob Jordan’s Eagles (17-2-3) were seeking their first title since 2009. Zionsville finished as runner-up in 2008.
