On Monday, December 3, the Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission will begin conducting interviews of the applicants for the Lake Superior Court. A vacancy on the Lake Superior Court will occur in January 2019 to fill the position of Judge Jesse M. Villalpando.

The applications for the Superior Court position were due yesterday. The following applicants will be interviewed in the hearing room of the Lake County Board of Commissioners, Third Floor of Building A, Lake County Government Center, 2293 N. Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307 in December with exact times not yet determined. The interview schedule will be released soon. All Commission proceedings are open to the public.

The Commission will accept public comment on the qualifications of any of the above listed applicants. Comments must be submitted electronically to lakejnc@courts.in.gov, no later than Monday, November 19th, at 4:00 p.m. CST. Under state law, the Commission is required to nominate three candidates for appointment to the Lake Superior Court when a vacancy arises. The final appointment will be made by Governor Eric Holcomb.
