To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Bears postseason game at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line will run an extra eastbound and extra westbound train, with additional select stops at the 18th St. Station.
Westbound service:
An Extra train will depart Carroll Avenue Station at 11:40 a.m. and make all local stops, including 18th St. Station, and terminate at Millennium Station. It will adhere to the following schedule:
11th St. Michigan City (11:44a); Dune Park (12:01p); Ogden Dunes (12:10p); Miller (12:17p); Gary Metro (12:24p); East Chicago (12:38p); Hammond (12:43p); Hegewisch (12:50p); 18th St. (1:18p); Museum Campus (1:20p); and Millennium Station (1:28p).
Additionally, regularly scheduled westbound Train #506 will serve the 18th Station, scheduled to arrive at 2:33 p.m.
Eastbound service:
An Extra train will depart Museum Campus/11th St. approximately 55 minutes after the game ends, with an 18th St. Station stop following shortly after Museum Campus. It will run non-stop to Hegewisch and make all local stops terminating at Carroll Avenue, Michigan City. The eastbound Extra will not serve Millennium Station, Van Buren St., Hudson Lake or South Bend.
Additionally, regularly scheduled eastbound Train 509 and Train 511 will serve the 18th Station following the game. Train 509 departs 18th St. at 6:28 p.m.; Train 511 departs 18th St. at 9:21 p.m.
