Investigators have been working diligently on the tragic Homicide that took place Monday afternoon. Police, Fire and EMS responded to 6800 block of N. Meer Road after receiving a frantic 911 call from a distraught relative of the family residing at the residence. It was soon discovered three people found inside of the home had been shot and were deceased. The deceased were identified as 71-year-old Barbara Evans, 73-year-old Walter Evans, and 48- year-old Tammy Evans.
The residence was secured and processed for evidence. Some of the evidentiary items collected were a handgun, spent bullet casings and a handwritten note. Based on the observation of the crime scene and the evidence collected, it was determined that Mr. Walter and Mrs. Barbara Evans had been shot inside their home and succumbed to the wounds they received. The gunshots were determined fired by Tammy Evans. According to police, Mr. and Mrs. Evans remained in the residence for several days as did Tammy. Tammy eventually took her own life through a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The handgun and handwritten note were located with Tammy Evans in a separate area of the residence.
