The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced Wednesday it is seeking qualified individuals to serve as citizen grant review panelists in 2019. Panelists receive a modest stipend for their service. Depending on eligibility, mileage and lodging reimbursements may be available in addition to the stipend. The citizen peer review panels are critical to the Arts Commission’s public funding process. Prospective panelists must represent diverse backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge in the arts. Panelists should also reflect diverse geographic areas of Indiana. Ideal panelist candidates have experience in one or more of the following: an art form, arts administration, arts project management, non-profit management or administration, or community arts organizing. The IAC also seeks candidates who have experience working with diverse groups of people. Young professionals as well as experienced cultural sector workers, artists, and arts leaders are encouraged to volunteer. Individuals interested in serving in this important role in cultural decision-making in Indiana are encouraged to complete this short form about their experience and desire to be an Arts Commission panelist. Panelists are matched with the field most closely aligned with their areas of experience and interests. Panelists will receive complete training prior to their scheduled panel session.
