Porter County Search Warrant Leads Drug Paraphernalia, Drugs, and Other Items Items Associated with Illegal Drugs Inside Residence
This past Thursday, around 9:30 am, the Porter County Multi-Enforcement Group (PCMEG), responded to an anonymous “Submit a Tip” for a residence in Chesterton on 10th Street. PCMEG was assisted by Porter County Adult Probation at the 10th Street residence as Probation was also looking for a subject that had been non-compliant with the terms of their probation and lived at the same residence. Information obtained at the residence led PCMEG Detectives to another, larger source, which was also in Chesterton, in the 800 south block of 2nd Street. Detectives made contact with the homeowner, who refused a consent to search. Detectives had obtained enough information and developed probable cause to then secure the residence and obtain a search warrant. Detectives located $31,496.90 in US currency, paraphernalia, marijuana, marijuana edibles and numerous other items associated with illegal drugs inside. Between both residences the following was located:
-1,123 assorted edible marijuana packages
-112 items of drug paraphernalia
-351 THC Vapes
-15.5lbs of marijuana
-64 grams of psychedelic mushrooms
-205 THC wax jars
– a total of $42,944.90 in USC
Charges are pending on the homeowner and the significant other at the 2nd Street address.
Warrants are being sought for Thomas W. Harvey 38, and his girlfriend Becca A. Broderick 37, both of Chesterton, for the following charges: Possession of Marijuana with intent to Deliver, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia
