Late Saturday evening, Deputy Trey Masterson was dispatched to the 2100 west block of Joliet Road, reference a noise complaint. At approximately 10:05 PM, Deputy Masterson arrived at the residence. He proceeded to stop his fully marked patrol vehicle in the driveway and prepared to exit. Then he observed a silver Kia going in reverse, moving directly towards his vehicle. Deputy Masterson activated his emergency red and blue lights in an attempt to alert the driver. However, the Kia continued and struck the front end of Deputy Masterson’s vehicle. As a result of the crash, Deputy Masterson immediately began an investigation. The driver was identified as 27 year old Tylyn Francisco of rural La Porte. Francisco was transported to La Porte Hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw. Francisco was later transported to the La Porte County Jail by Deputy Masterson and arrested for three counts of Operating While Intoxicated. Francisco has since posted bond and been released from the jail. Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Deputy Masterson was not injured during the incident, however his vehicle sustained front end damage.
