The La Porte Jaycees are pleased to announce their 73rd annual 4th of July festivities. The festivities start with the 46th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival on June 29th from 8 AM to 1 PM at the corner of State and Monroe Streets in La Porte.  The Arts & Crafts Festival is held in conjunction with the La Porte Farmers Market. There will be many vendors on site selling arts, crafts, and food. They will also be selling new limited edition La Porte Jaycees 4th of July t-shirts at the event for $15.
Last year the Jaycees moved the annual fireworks display to July 3rd to better allow the community to attend this event, as well as other events in the region.  This change was well received, and the Jaycees annual fireworks display will once again take place on July 3rd at the La Porte County Fairgrounds located at 2581 W State Road 2.  Gates open for the fireworks at 6 PM and the fireworks start around 9:30 PM. Admission is only $5 for a car load or $1 a person for walk-in and food vendors will be available. 4th of July t-shirts will also be sold at the fireworks, while supplies last.
The final 4th of July festivity is the 73rd Annual La Porte Jaycees 4th of July Parade.  This is Indiana’s largest 4th of July parade, with annual attendance of around 60,000 people.  And by the governor’s proclamation, La Porte will once again be the State Capital of the Day. The parade will start at 10 AM on July 4th and will travel down Lincolnway in La Porte from east to west. The theme of this year’s parade was voted on by the community, with Family | Fireworks | Freedom
