The Valparaiso Police responded to the 1200 block of Chicago St. early Tuesday evening, due to a report of “shots fired” in the area. Witnesses reported that at approximately 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, they observed a black male, described of average height and build, fire multiple shots from a weapon in the area.  Several bullet casings were located to confirm the report. The male was further described as having “purple long spiked dreadlocks” and was wearing a camouflage shirt. Police learned a second male was observed in the area at the time of the shooting, who was described as a Hispanic male wearing a black head covering, a white t-shirt, and black shorts.  Both males were not located in the area when police arrived.
Additional information was learned, indicating two vehicles were present when the incident began, which had also left the area.  The vehicles were only described as a black passenger vehicle and a white passenger vehicle. 
There is no known present danger to the area and it is not believed that anyone was harmed during this incident.  Police continue to investigate and remain on-scene.
