Yesterday just after at 4 p.m., Valparaiso Police responded to Kentucky Fried Chicken, at 2402 Calumet Ave., in reference to the report of a male bleeding from his hand. It was soon learned a male had been “stabbed” by an employee who had been terminated just prior to the incident. Twenty-six year old Joshua Moser, of Valparaiso arrived for his shift at KFC, when he was advised of the decision by management. Moser soon attempted to aggressively approach a member of the management staff, with a knife in his hand, and was subdued by other employees. During this time, Moser then utilized the knife, stabbing a staff member, causing injury to his hand/arm. Moser then exited the business and cut the tires of the management staff and walked south. Moser was observed walking into McDonalds at 2002 Calumet Ave. and officers were directed to this location. Moser was taken into custody by Valparaiso Police soon after, without further incident occurring.
Moser was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery causing serious bodily injury, intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, and possession of paraphernalia.
