The La Porte County Drug Task Force (LCDTF) announces the arrest of an individual for Dealing Methamphetamine and Failure to Report a Dead Body.  Jesse J. BROCKMAN (44) of Michigan City, was arrested at the Michigan City Police Department upon the conclusion of an investigation into the death of two individuals.  On Tuesday, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Michigan City Police Shift 3 Officers were dispatched to a Motel in the 3900 Block of Franklin Street, Michigan City, to check on the welfare of a 29-year old Michigan City man.  Though the officer’s investigation, they observed what appeared to be a deceased individual inside of the Motel room, through a window.

 After the officers gained access to the room, they discovered three (3) individuals inside of the room.  Two (2) of the individuals were deceased.  The deceased individuals were identified as Christina Rossetti, Age 26 and Zachary Granzo, Age 29.  The third individual was later transported to the Michigan City Police Department.  Members of the Laporte County Drug Task Force were called in to lead the investigation into the deaths.  Investigators obtained a Search Warrant for the Motel room.  A search of the room led to the seizure of Illegal Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia.  After an intense 16-hour long investigation, Jesse J. BROCKMAN was arrested.  Testimony was presented to the honorable Magistrate John Link in La Porte County Superior Court #4, where probable cause was found to arrest BROCKMAN.  BROCKMAN is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.  BROCKMAN is charged with one (1) count of Dealing Methamphetamine Level 2 Felony, and two (2) counts of Failure to Report a Dead Body “A” Misdemeanor.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible once investigators receive the autopsy results for the two victims. 

Assisting at the scene and investigation were the Michigan City Fire Department, LaPorte County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the LaPorte County Coroner’s Office, and the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office.

Lt. Tim Richardson credits the work of the initial responding Shift 3 Officers, Michigan City Police Department Evidence Technician (Detective) Dave Cooney, and the Investigators from the LaPorte County Drug Task Force for their efforts at the crime scene.  These efforts can hopefully begin to bring some closure to the families of these two victims with the arrest of Jesse BROCKMAN.
