Red Cross: Donate To Help Ensure A Diverse Blood Supply

The American Red Cross urges people of all races and ethnicities to give blood to help ensure a diverse blood supply for patients in need.

Some blood types are unique to certain racial and ethnic groups. For patients with rare blood types, blood from someone with a similar racial or ethnic background is important to decrease the chance of complications.

You can help by encouraging people of all races and ethnicities to give blood to maintain a diverse blood supply. Upcoming Red Cross blood donation opportunities in the community. A diverse blood infographic is available to download, as well.
